Greetings Fellow Members,
We are writing to you today to share with you a decision of the Board that was made at a special meeting held on Tuesday, November 24th.
The purpose of our meeting was to discuss the presence of a second wave of COVID-19 in our area. Our main concern is the rise in infection rate in Albany County at 3.1%. This rate now in its 5th consecutive day being over 3% has us approaching the yellow zone. This information along with potential spikes in the area due to several holiday gatherings has led us to a decision to suspend our programming scheduled at Hanover Square until the infection rate stabilizes and then begins to decline.
We reached this decision before having to do so due to Government mandates. Taking into consideration the rise in infection rates and potential family gatherings to cause a spike in our area we wanted to put the health and safety of our members first and foremost in making our decision.
It is our hope that this suspension in programming will be over soon and we will be able to resume our programming and once again enjoy one another’s company at an event soon.
Currently events such as Tennis, Bowling, and Outdoorsy Stuff are continuing until government mandates affect them as well.
As you know, we are going through difficult times trying to contain this deadly virus. In our community room we have taken extreme measures to keep our members safe at all gatherings. Even with those measures, we must now comply with new directives to keep everyone safe and stop the transmission rate.
We are aware that these restrictions may become more or less restrictive as the transmission rate changes. We will certainly make you aware through our email system of any changes as they occur. We ask that you share them with members that you know who do not have email. Our only goal is to keep all members safe from harm.
We will continue to make updates on our Website and Facebook.
Feel free to call our office at 518-452-6883 for updates on events. Leave a message and Loretta will call you back.
